TEMAKI
Anyone who knows me well knows I'm pretty relaxed with my veganism. However, after two years of living in Glasgow, I now have an excuse to drag a unlucky few to the best that the city has to offer for us vegans... a marketing assignment, hooray!
So if you've made it this far, thanks! Till next week folks :)
The first stop on this belated vegan food tour was Temaki, a small Japanese restaurant in the heart of the city centre. I've walked past so many times with the intention of trying it out, so on a rainy Wednesday night myself and Lauren finally paid them a visit.
As two very indecisive individuals, we were overwhelmed by their class menu - so much variety and plenty veggie/vegan options. A match made in heaven for vegan and non-vegan friendships. Once the painful process of deciding was over, we didn't have to wait long for our delicious food to arrive.
Move over Yo-Sushi - Lauren’s go-to restaurant…
"WOW" *chef kiss* was her immediate reaction to one bite of her chicken katsu.
I ordered their avocado maki and tofu teriyaki k-cup initially, which were both so good. The k-cup had a LOT of rice in it, however, as post-hockey match hungry was at its peak this wasn’t really too big of an issue. After demolishing all this, I got their agedashi tofu, which for being just crispy tofu was pretty damn good.
If you're a Japanese food lover like us, then I'd 100% recommend. Fresh and fast food, what more could you ask for? Boasting a cool, intimate vibe and serving very tasty, reasonably priced food (thank you student discount), this certainly won't be our last visit to this hidden gem on Hope Street.
