SINGL-END GARNETHILL
Wow on the fourth blog post already... how time flies when you're spending all your SAAS on coffee and food.
Think it's safe to say that most people in Glasgow have visited, or at least heard of, one of the two popular Singl-end cafes located in Merchant City and Garenthill.
One of the best things about my flat on Garenthill is that it's approximately 10 metres away from the iconic brunch spot. So you know what that means... regular hungover, got-no-food brunch visits.
Once an old print factory, the large basement coffee shop now has a stylish, shabby chic interior - sorta what you'd expect from any popular west-end cafe tbh. However, you gotta love the fairy lights and cute glass tables with old postcards and pictures placed through them.
As soon as you walk in you are met by a huge table of cakes. This will either make or break you that day. Be healthy and ignore, or screw it there's a massive chocolate cake just staring you in the face so you might as well just admit defeat anyway and order it before you even take a seat.
The thing with Singl-end is that it's almost always busy. Sometimes you'll get lucky with a spot at your own wee table which is always nice, otherwise, there's a few shared bar seats available. However, the staff are always pretty attentive and friendly so needn't worry about being overlooked sat there.

Euan opted for the popular baked eggs with sausage and chickpeas. A bit of a dramatic choice coming in a hefty skillet on a wooden block. And no surprise, it's a big portion, especially for one hungover individual.
One of the issues with Singl-end is that it's kinda expensive. It's nothing crazy, and for the decent portions you get it's sorta justified. But for being breakfast/brunch food hmmmm. In saying that, the sheer convenience of the place and it's good food keeps me coming back. So really I can't complain. Should probs just admit sometimes I'm too lazy to walk down the hill to Tesco.
Think that's all folks, shall catch you next week for final instalment of my vegan food ramblings.
Byyeeee :)
